Ms Aoife Stone-Ghariani
Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, University College London Hospital

Aoife is a speech-language therapist specialised in neurosurgery and currently based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN). Her specialist interests include awake craniotomy, dysphagia rehabilitation and use of instrumental assessment in critical care.
Her career began in community neuro-rehab for speech and language therapy, followed by roles in acute services, critical care, neuro outpatient clinics, and stroke rehabilitation. Prior to gaining her MSc in Speech and Language Therapy, Aoife completed her undergraduate degree in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Oxford. She has also taught linguistics modules at the Universities of Paris Est Créteil and Maine. Aoife is a committee member of the Adult Acquired Dysphagia CEN and is a frequent presenter at study days and conferences.
Recently, she has presented at Gower’s Round at NHNN, discussing the use of instrumental assessment in the differential diagnosis of stroke and was a guest speaker at the UKSRG.
