Dr. Annick Desjardins

Professor of Neurosurgery and Neurology, The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University

Annick Desjardins, MD, FRCPC completed her residency in Adult Neurology at the Universite de Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, followed by a fellowship in Neuro-oncology at The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, which she afterward joined as faculty.

She is Professor in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Neurology, Director of Clinical Research at the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke, Clinical Trials Core Co-Director for the Duke Brain Tumor SPORE and P01 grants, and chair on the Duke Cancer Institute Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Adult Neurology and certified in Neuro-oncology by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties.

Her clinical research focus includes the direct intracerebral administration of therapeutics, including oncolytic viruses, immunotoxins, and others via convection-enhanced delivery. She has been the Principal Investigator of over 40 therapeutic trials, led international multicenter trials, and held several INDs.
