Sara currently works as the senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) for oncology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and has worked in both in-patient and outpatient neuro-oncology services for over 8 years. She is passionate about raising the profile of the hidden communication deficits in this patient group to maximise their participation in treatment decisions and to maintain their quality of life. To support this aim she is a member of the following committees and associations:
- European Association of Neuro-oncology (EANO)
- British Neuro-Oncology Association (BNOS)
- EANO Nurse and Allied Health Professionals Committee
- Tessa Jowell Brain Tumour Academy Allied Health Professionals Foundation group
- Tessa Jowell Brain Tumour Academy- joint lead for the SLT focus group.
- Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission Validation Committee
Sara is a member of a National MDT working group to establish a gold standard pathway for the treatment of the older and clinically vulnerable brain tumour patients in England. – previously NCRI.
