Mrs Charlotte Smith

Neuro Specialist Therapeutic Radiographer, The Christie NHSFT

Charlotte qualified as a Therapeutic Radiographer in 2006 and joined the neuro team at The Christie in 2011. Since commencing in her specialist role, she has gained multiple qualifications including, master’s in advanced practice, clinical examination skills and non-medical prescribing. She is also level 2 psychology trained to ensure she can offer appropriate emotional care to patients.

Charlotte manages and supports patients with a central nervous system or base of skull tumour and her role covers both the local photon service and the national proton beam therapy service. Charlotte works at an advanced clinical level, managing and supporting patients and their relatives through the radiation treatment.

Charlotte participates in local and national groups including the Tessa Jowell Foundation and she undertakes audits, service development and research. Additionally, Charlotte is an honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool and is involved in the teaching and education of student AHPs, medical students and qualified healthcare professionals.
