Mr Steve Williamson
Associate Director for Managed Access, NICE

Steve Williamson is NICE’s Associate Director for Managed Access, including the Cancer Drugs Fund (CDF), the Innovative Medicines Fund (IMF) and the Early Value Assessment (EVA) of Healthtech. Steve’s Team is responsible for all aspects of the development, planning and delivery of Managed Access, working collaboratively with NHS England colleagues. Steve is a key opinion leader on NICE’s managed access and evidence-generation activities.
Steve is a pharmacist whose background includes oncology and commissioning plus a long-standing involvement in HTA implementation of cancer medicines from a system perspective. Before joining NICE Steve was NHS England’s National Lead Cancer pharmacist for 5 years having moved from a Consultant Cancer Pharmacist role in the North East of England.
Steve is a past Chair of the British Oncology Pharmacy Association authoring many of their Guidelines and National Standards. Steve teaches on the Oncology MSc degree course at Newcastle University and has published and undertaken research on various topics on cancer medicines, chemotherapy service delivery and HTA process.
